Take Your Game to the Next Level with Dundee United Futbol Club
The Program

The Soccer Year

Dundee United FC’s soccer year is from August 1 thru July 31, with a 10-game fall season, a 10-game spring season, and a 10-game winter indoor season. Signing up for the soccer year means registering the player in an age group (Micro, U8-U14, etc.), with a club (Dundee United FC), and a club team (Lightning, Rowdies, Infernos, etc) in a league (NISL or IWSL) affiliated with IYSA. The player is committed to that age group, club and team for the fall and spring outdoor and winter indoor seasons. Players can be transferred or released depending on individual circumstances.

To determine a player’s age group, visit this link:

(ages 4–5 compete in Micro Soccer age group not shown on chart)

Outdoor Soccer Season

We play in the NISL & IWSL fall and spring competitive travel outdoor soccer seasons. We play other same-age and similar-ability teams in the Chicago metropolitan area and suburbs.

The fall season runs from early September through early November. The spring season runs from early April through late June.

Practices

Practices for the fall outdoor season start around the beginning of August, about a month before the season starts. During this first month, practices are typically two nights a week for 1–1½ hours each night. Our teams, which are run by volunteer coaches, managers and coordinators, utilize professional trainers to ensure individual and team development.

Practices for the spring outdoor season start in late March or early April, depending on the weather, with practices running two nights a week. Practices are typically held at Sabatino Park in Sleepy Hollow (where tryouts were held). During the season a third night is sometimes held for individual technical skills training for the entire club.

Indoor Soccer Season

The indoor soccer season consists of two sessions, running from early November through late December (fall session), and from January through early March (winter session). The club takes a break between these sessions. Participation in the fall indoor session is determined by team interest. Winter session is included in club fees and all players are expected to participate, as the winter indoor session gives players a chance to get back into the swing of soccer and continue with their skill advancement before the start of the outdoor season.

Summer Soccer Camps

We recommend summer soccer camp for players so they can develop individual and team skills during the late summer off-season. Not all summer soccer camps are equal; Dundee United FC tries to organize a quality camp and can recommend camps that provide quality training.
