Welcome Parents, Players, and Visitors
Dundee United Futbol Club is a competitive travel club that plays in the boys/mixed Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL) and the girls Illinois Women's Soccer League (IWSL). Both are affiliates of Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA). We work through the Dundee Township Park District to take advantage of the many soccer fields within the local area.
Philosophy
Our mission is to provide a positive, competitive youth soccer experience for player, parent and coach. We emphasize long-term player development of physical, emotional and social skills.
We believe a positive team sport experience will promote a youth's self-confidence and self-esteem beyond the soccer field.
We emphasize individual skill development, teamwork, game concepts and sportsmanship. We try to provide a healthy perspective on both winning and losing. We believe players, parents and coaches will learn more from a competitive 3–2 loss than a non-competitive 7–0 win. Success is defined by improvement, effort, competitive spirit and team play.
History
Dundee United FC was founded in 1999 to provide affordable, competitive soccer for area kids. We started with one U13 team, formed by uniting two Dundee Township Park District teams; hence the name Dundee United. The coaches of the two prior teams worked together to coach the new Dundee United team. Although comprised mostly of U12 players, the new team played up a year to include players that were too old for U12.
